Dylan is an emerging professional artist living in Phoenix, Arizona. ​ Born in Flagstaff then raised in Phoenix. Dylan is currently a BFA junior at Arizona State University. Focusing on painting and drawing.

I paint. Not because I find sunsets pretty, or trees interesting, or the way an old pair of work boots can hold more misery than any horror film–the subject–matters very little to me. It’s the way I paint that situates me in the history of painters and culture. Technique is the allegory of my philosophy. The technique sits somewhere between abstraction and realism; metal that appears like fabric or trees like stones. This re-interpretation comes at the surface level with core structures rooted in realism. Each image then battles itself because of our own constructed conception of the world. To place light and depth as focal points of how we make our lenses to see and keep the substructure that tethers us to reality, showing on a fundamental level how much possibility for change there really is.
